My powers give some retardedly conditional defenses, I just want to share that.
I will illustrate why for a moment:
I have a base soak. This consists of Stam+MegaStam+Force Field. All of these are unconditional soaks, so they apply against everything.
Next there's a Gravity Shield. This subtracts successes from incoming attacks at various rates and then also supplys soak against incoming ranged projectiles (not energy).
Then there's Ripple Shield. It provides soak vs all ranged attacks (and a counterattack) (a lot of soak, actually, if you roll decently)
Finally there is Entropic Shield, which provides some soak vs all attacks, providing it isn't made of living matter.
This leaves us with at least 5 categories of soak if all shields are up:
Base soak
soak vs everything except living ('such as fists or animals')
soak vs ranged energy attacks
soak vs living solid projectiles (I assume people throwing animals at me)
soak vs unliving solid projectiles
Zoinks.

sta+Mega-sta = 3
E.M.-Kinetics-Shield = 10
Armor+Superheavy extra = 7
Variable boost bonus = 1/2 successes, [max 2]
current total = 20-22
coming soon...
MASTERY.

I think I can break ten lethal soak barely. I am squishy.

actually, my bashing is a bit higher, so 23-25.
steven can't be touched at range... scary.

Yuck Steven's character is kinda sick....I am assuming that you have attacks through grav control?

Yes, Yes I do have attacks via grav control (they're really my only effective ones, even after mastery).
I actually haven't figured my current numbers. My post chrysalis soaks are quite high, for ranged attacks they're generally about 50B/L.
I should probably calculate the current numbers though, as they're more relevant. They're somewhere in the 20s.
And yes, my main defensive vulnerability is close up. Its a good think Grav gives me both TK and flight. :P

Here's the current breakdown. This values represent roughly average success on dice rolls, the entropy and spatial shields have variable results.
15B/13L base (this is Stam 4+ MStam 1+FF1
18B/16L vs all except living (add in Entropy Shield)
26B/24L vs ranged energy attacks (also add Ripple Shield [Spatial])
24B/21L vs living solid projectiles (add in Gravity but subtract Entropy, probably a rare circumstance)
29B/27L vs unliving solid projectiles (add Entropy back in, this is everything at once)
I also calculated these values to see roughly where I will be. These numbers assume the following things: Quantum 6, relevant Mega-Attribute at 3, current values for everything else, the extra Mastery 1 is purchased for all of the powers.
27B/20L base
35B/28L vs all except living
67B/60L vs ranged energy attacks
65B/48L vs living projectiles
73B/66L vs unliving solid projectiles
As you can see, mastery is highly desirable and fantastically effective, particularly on Ripple shield.
Other notes: Ripple shield provides a free ranged counter attack, Gravity Shield reduces incoming attack successes on both ranged and hand-to-hand/melee attacks (by different amounts). Normally these shields last roughly the duration of a combat. With mastery they last 14-18 hours.

Guess mega strength is not that over powered...

guess i should go ahead and note that armor increases to hit difficulty by 1/dot while superheavy is active, as does hypermovement.

I thought the hypermovement bonus only applied while you were going at full speed and stipulated that you couldn't take other actions?

correct, but it is still a potential bonus.

Also, increasing gravity beyond a certain amount starts to subtract from Str and Stamina, starting with Mega atts first. :D

my chrysalis character is awesome.
mental hospital escapee that believes she has been touched by alien/transdimensional beings of light, and that they live in her body and gifted her with special powers.
oh, and she has dissociative personality disorder along with her schizophrenia, delusions of grandeur, and paranoia.
