Round 1: The Dark Tower vs Karn

Both these two individual constructs, span multiple realities and have the power to shape the events of those said realities.

The Dark Tower comes from the mind of Steven King. Like most of his creations it isn't really a pleasant thing. It stands as a part of reality, possibly several, in fact is the pillar which supports all things.

Karn is one of the godlike beings, in the Magic the Gathering universe, known as planewalkers. He is unique because he was originally built as a golem to aid in the works of a planeswalker named Urza. Since he awakened to the higher state he has not only created a reality of his own, but managed to incorporate several potent artifacts from that multiverse into his basic form.

This is a battle of wills as, Karn is dawn through time and space by an unknown force. The tower has called him and seeks to bend the powerful figure to it's own will. Having kown existence as the tool of another before, Karn isn't having any of it.

With this pairing I don't know enough about either of them. I am not sure the extent of Karn's powers (I'm not interested in Magic's fluff) and not enough info on Wikipedia for ether Karn or the Dark Tower. I read the first 3 or so Dark Tower books but I don't remember much from them.

Cheyne told me that the Dark Tower is a pillar at the center of creation. it binds everything together, and has the power to reveal ultimate truths. The Tower itself can apparently influence to course of events throughout its domain (which seems to be pretty large)

Karn is a planeswalker, planeswalkers pretty much do what ever they want. They can teleport at will, and travel between the planes (or worlds) through something called the Blind Eternities.
In addition to their limitless movement, they can take any form (their 'bodies' are made up of energy), and can manipulate elemental forces (mana). They can reshape continents, crush empires, and build civilizations.
Their spells come from the manipulation of the primal elements that comprise the fabric of existence. They use memories, and ties to places and things to help shape those forces.
Of note Karn created the plane of Mirrodin as an experiment. Untill he did that, the most powerful example of a planewalkers ability was when Teferi phased a continent out of its place in time/space (hey...he put it back later).

Hope this helps.

We need to see some more action on this thread, and the thread with the One Ring vs Mirrari. I won't be able to list the Round 2 pairings until all Round one matches have been decided.
If you guy don't know what some of these artifacts are, you can post questions (this is a forum of gamers, surely at least one of us knows), or you can look it up with Google and Wikipedia.
Anyway, have fun and keep the votes coming.

I declare the Planeswalker Karn to be the winner in this Round 1 battle against the Dark Tower.
