The Adventure Continues.

It seems a recent calling has come up for the Legends game, which I have agreed to take over running. I will be posting stuff here for everyone to view.

The first thing I need to let you all know is were the plot is at. If I remember correctly we had just finished a tournament, involving all the Monarchs and factions. The Buro had been kicked out and loyalties between the Dragons were a bit shaky.

I have here a summary of the most recent events after the tourney. This is pretty big so prepare yourselves for a shock.

Meer hours after the final fighting of the tournament had worn down, and the victory ceremonies performed, both the Thunder King and Ice Queen summoned their dragon allies to secret audiences. Each in their own way is filled with dim feelings about the immediate future. None of the siblings is in fact happy with the signs and portents their augers have predicted will come to pass. It is with this in mind that the characters are called to their respective meetings.
Huan Ken is reluctant to pass on any opportunity to let go of his new found allies, powerful warriors, with unclear motivations, are just the kind of agents he is looking for. His was also deeply insulted by the actions of the Buro, taking it as a personal effrontery to him and his siblings. The wayward Dragons feeling sightly distanced from their usual allies, due to their fighting on different sides in the recent games, are looking for some support, and see benefit in a continuing alliance with their tournament patron.
It seems that the Buro has asked to make a formal apology to the monarchs. Their story is that the group sent to participate was rogue and their actions were not sanctioned by BuroMil. In an effort to make amends, the Buro is promising to turn over the creatures that were captured, and throw a ceremony honoring the monarchs, primarily Huan Ken himself, since he seems to be the one most affected.
With the promise of ceremony in honor of his great and magnanimous person, of course Huan Ken has agreed to participate and accept the Buro's invitation. It seems his siblings will not be showing, which only proves his own good will and benevolence above and beyond that of his kin (right?). The other three monarchs are only sendng envoys, as a sign of their willingness to accept the apology, this they feel should be deemed suitable.
The Thunder King would like his new champions to accompany him to the ceremony, and stand beside him in positions of honor. His full motivations are unknown, but such is the way with demigods. Of course the Dragons agree to go, and its not entirely due to the immense amount of pressure Huan Ken puts upon them to do so.
They agree to follow behind the Monarchs primary retinue, which will give them some time to prepare, and it will allow them to skip, what they will most likely find to be rather boring, welcoming ceremonies.
Meanwhile, the bulk of the Dragons are given audience with Pui Ti, she has of course gotten word of the Buro's apology, but is not as trusting as her brother. She lets the party know that she is planning on sending an envoy, but she wants some assurances, and an ace up her sleeve, if the Buro is planning any tricks. So she asks the Dragons to go and watch the ceremony, and at the very least make sure her people stay safe.
The PC's of course agree to help, they have no love of the Buro, and being Dragons want to do what they can to cement their alliance with the powerful Queen of Ice. The plan is to have them approach the ceremony grounds from a series of 'backtrails'. She will send one of her most powerful shapers to aid them and make sure the route path is both accurate, and as stable as possible. Fortunately the Buro has choosen a relatively inactive section the Neatherworld to host their party.
So with little else to keep them busy or too occupy their time, the two groups of Dragons set about preparing for their journeys, and resting while they have the chance.
Traveling through the Neatherworld even with an expert shaper and experienced guide is hazardous at the best of times, and considering the recent activities of the Dragon's faction, both groups are less than surprised to find themselves set upon by squads of abominations and BuroMil soldiers, along their respectve paths. The Buro forces are large and abominations make tough opponents, for even powerful innerwalkers, but the characters dispatch them with relatively little trouble.
Huan Ken's group curious, and sensing battle ahead hasten their small force of Thunder Knights and sorcerers forward. Pui Ti's allies sensing the worst is yet to come, do the same, and so the Dragons on their seperate paths make haste.
Only a few hours behind the Thunder King's primary forces the Predator and Acheilles arrive to what can only be described as all out war. Having approached from behind Huan Kens trail they find themseves flanking several large squads of powerful Buro innerwalkers, who had in their turn been flanking Huan Ken's Thunder Knights. The battle is one of the tougher fights either has ever been a part of.
The sheer number of strong opponents nearly overwhelmes them, but fighting along side their retinue they make it through. This is really little consolation however when they enter the main assembly area, where the Buro has staged their 'apology'.
Meanwhile galvanized by the Buro ambush, the Dragons allied with Pui Ti make good time following the path her guide sets. As they approach the ceremony area from inside a series of descrete tunnels catacombing the area, the Neatherworld is being shaken by battle. In haste the party rushes forward to get a better idea of what is happening.
In their path lay several newly formed barriers, which much to their chagrin, their guide cannot shape through. Luckily several amongst them are skilled in the art of blowing stuff up, and in only minutes the barriers are little more than rubble.
Their path leads them out onto a series of ledges high over the main field, which gives them a near perfect birds eye peek at what is happening, and none among them like what they see. Upon a hill Huan Ken and what remains of his decimated forces, are fghting a defensive actions against what amounts to a not so small an army of Buro military.
Squads of abominations and crack special operations teams keep constant pressure on Huan Ken’s faultering forces. Huan Ken bellows orders and destroys whole units with awesome blows with his magical powers, but it isn't enough. For every soldier or monster he kills, more wait in the ready to take their place, and an increasing number seem to be immune to his magic outright.
This is a war of attrition and the Buro have come with the intention of winning. As the party looks on they can see their Dragon comrades at another entrance fighting to get to Huan Ken, but they are making little headway, and the troops with them are unable to hold their own, against the odds. So as the party looks on their comrades are forced to cut their losses and retreat.
Meanwhile center stage Huan Ken in a desperate bid to win free, has plunged into close combat with the Buro forces, but again his efforts are in vain. Every so often he takes a bullet or a cut, or is hit with some grotesque beam of arcanowave energy, and each time he grows a bit more unfocused in his rage.
After another few moments the Thunder King is nearly all that is left, wading through the Buro. The last of his knights along with the envoys sent by the other monarchs, having a few powerful innerwalkers amongst them, make a suicide charge at a large sluglike abomination which the Buro is using to spray down the area with some sort of adhesive goo. The sorty manages to destroy the hideous creature before being overwhelmed.
The Dragons are so caught up in watching all this they fail to notice a contingent of abominations, heading their way. The creatures nearly fall on top of them before the characters react, and are forced to fight for their lives. They fight the foul demons off and finish fighting just in time to see the impossible.
Now joined by the two Dragons wearing Huan Kens colors, they all witness Huan Kens death. In his rage and frustration the Thunder King forgetting himself in the moment unleashes a terrible blast of power which surges over the troops around him, searing everything it touches. Yet as the rampaging energy alights upon one squad of abomidable shock troops, the wave is rebounded ten fold back upon him, and the Thunder King dies in a flash of raw power.
A strange sort of quiet falls over everything. It is broken only by orders to kill the remaining intruders. When the party realizes they are in fact the 'intruders' so mentioned they decide to beat a hasty retreat, instead of fighting the Buro's amassed forces.
In awe they travel silently, not wanting to be the bearers of the news they must carry. Not knowing how Pui Ti will react, or her sblings for that matter. The guide she sent with them assures them of her intentions toward them, and strongly urges them to be honest, if thay are having doubts. The guide figures she is going to find out eventually, and it would be better if it was from them. However, in regards to the other two monarchs, they need to stay wary. The guide is unsure how they will react to news of their brothers death, or more importantly to the Dragons, who now have proof of such fallibility.
To make a long story short the Monarchs are devastated and appalled at the news. They each in their own way end up thanking the Dragons for the information, and then they go into seclusion and begin to plot. After a few days of deliberation the Monarchs emerge from seclusion with a decision.
The Dragons are told by Pui Ti that such an act is to much to tolerate. So the remaining monarchs herself included will do something they have never felt the need to do before, they are leaving the Neatherworld to invade another juncture.
The Plan is a lightning strike on the Buro, on their home turf. On the way out the monarchs will destroy every known Buro facility in the Neatherworld. For Pui Ti this is more than just vengence, it is about the Buro over stepping itself, and when word of these events gets out, it will destabilize the socio political structure of the Neatherworld. She wants to keep the chaos as minimal as possible, and feels that her and her siblings need to show they have not grown weak and incapable. Basically, they already lost one juncture and they aren't losing this one.
So this is where the game will pick up. The party having just found out the monarchs plan to invade 2056. The preparations will take a bit of time, and the Monarchs are going to be squabbling over Huan Ken's kingdom, so not much immediate action is going to be seen. Of note Huan Ken’s forces are starting to filter in seeking refuge and offering service. Some go to Pui Ti, others to Ming I, and still others the Li Ting. Who goes where is dependent on goals and dispositions, but the diplacement is fairly even.
Also, the Feng Shui sites and territory are already being consolidated. The PC's are given several, both for their services, and other reasons, which only the monarchs know. Other sites have become contested by bold Neatherworld rabble, and a few of the more powerful defected Thunder Knights, whom have decided they wish to have their own territory.
The Tournament Arena has been placed under the management of a very shrewd entrepenuer and innerwalker, who wishes to see the games continued as a regular event. The innerwalker was last heard to have begun buisness negotiations with a new sect calling themselves the Lords of Flies.

So there you go. The death of a Monarch and plots a brewin.

Huan Ken is the Thunder King.

Li Ting is the Fire King.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm gonna edit.

Gideon, The Lords of Flies are a faction comprised entirely of Scrappy Kids. They showed up during the Tournament and have made a semi-permanent basecamp in the city that has sprung up around the Grand Colusseum.

Just kind of FWY, if you were asking about them in your post.

After defeating whatever they defeated in josh's last session, our intrepid adventurers returned to the 1970s to go on vacation at a pleasant but vacant beach resort. While resting, they were attacked by nazi stormtroopers wearing orange helmets who surfed right up to the beach, who were suddenly and unilaterally cut down by the grammaton cleric almost as soon as as shots were rolled. Then Mr E, their contact with Star 7, informed them that Count Colonel Zam Zam has returned, and is building a bomb that will detonate time, and must be stopped. So they surfed to a yacht which they sank and went to atlantis, where they fought a motorcycle gang who use gun-helmets. then they fought and killed DJ Death, a disco-funk sorceror, Hornblower, a supernatural faggot, Maskface, a weed whacker wielding luchadore, some other idiot, and the Zebra Stripes, a martial arts gang representing racial inequality between blacks and whites. Then we ran out of time, so we summarized their inevitable victory at Mount Africa where they would have killed Count Colonel Zam Zam, Sexy Spider, White Sniper, a few other namies, and the Power Flowers, a force of hippie stripper ninjas. The fight would have been in the pendulum fortress swinging over lava in the peak of Mt. Africa. Oh, and Zam Zam turns out to be Mr. E.

The End.

That was the greatest game of my life.

I really liked the alien B-movie idea, but feel that in the end it was poorly actualized. I blame my lack of GMing experience.

i would have liked to play gids game, but the aliens killed me.

and it was a pretty good plot for the alien thing, i just felt that it turned into a grind for the last 2 hours. but the previous stuff was strong.

I wouldn't mind a refresher of this. I want to see rambo spilling gallons of blood.

I'm still willing to try and work out some sort of forum based game for this.

I'm still willing. Yep, just sittin here on my days off. Not really much going on. Temple ignores me, the cat is.. well, a cat, and I pretty much have nothing else to do. I can just continue to watch the free movies on NetFlix, but I'm about out of good ones (and bad ones I'm willing to watch). I would love to have something I could pour some time into.

I'm willing to do play by post, though live internet gaming has burned me recently.

What were you interested in doing?

Same idea I posted above, and forever ago. Basically, I can make each adventure a new thread, and whoever wants to participate in a listed adventure can sign up. When an adventure gets enough players to be fun (like 3-5) then I will start running. I think that a player should be prepared to post a minimum of twice a week. That means getting on the boards, reading what's going on, and then responding. People can play multiple characters on different missions, however no character can participate in more than one adventure at a time. Also every thread will maintain continuity with all the other 'Legends' adventures.
Thats the gist of it anyway. I have a couple of ideas for adventures, and I really think Feng Shui is a great game for text based gaming. I can go ahead and start this up. I'll list the first adventure, and wait to see if people sign up, if you want me to. I will also try and make a comprehensive list of etiquette/rules for this type of play.

I started a list of really bad ideas for games, ideas that made me shudder upon realizing them. I could maybe run one of them, before suiciding. I decided to get some practice coming up with bad ideas, so that I could better recognize good ones. I don't think it worked, but it hurt. Here's an example of my work:

The heroes are recruited to form a band to compete with evil bands in a world wide contest to attempt to save the universe, a message of peace and love might just prevail over the evil of hate and destruction, if you get the chords just right.

OR

A villian is auctioning off the US military on Ebay from INSIDE THE INTERNET, so the heroes have to chase down the culprit by GOING INTO THE INTERNET from a special back door in the microsoft building in seattle.

And there's more where that came from.
