I was looking at that a few hours ago and thought about posting it. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much, if any, confirmed information anywhere about what the event actually offers.

On the bright side, $99 a night split between multiple people doesn't suck too badly and New Orleans isn't an impossible drive for a road trip.

et c’est l’autre que je préfère,
il n’a rien dit, mais il me plaît.

I would maybe think about doing this. If it wasn't WW it would be more appealing. As it is, its certainly some sort of historic RPG event in the making. There will probably be some pretty cool costumes (and also some really badong ones).

That hotel has never before housed as many un-bathed bodies as they will that weekend...I feel sorry for them...

Me and Cheyne have been mulling this over, and it is really potentially doable. What we need is to establish a list of those that want to do this, and are willing to commit.

Something that occurred to me is that as a tight knit group we could go as a large party of individuals who are all a part of the same network (clan, bloodline, whatever). This would allow us to pretty much instantly create a power base to within the meta-game from which to work from. We could seriously rock the event, if we had enough bodies willing to commit to this.

Anyway consider this the beginning of the planning stage. The end of this month is the deadline to get a cheaper entry per person into the event. After that the price goes up.

Haley and I are interested. If it were just the RP then we probably wouldn't be, but the opportunity to do daytime stuff is appealing for a little mini vacation, and I personally like road trips.

I would want to drive, b/c air tickets are too damned expensive for the little amount of time they save (with layovers, airport crap, renting a car at the place you go to, etc.), but that will add a bit of time to the trip. Would need to leave on Thursday, get there either late that evening, or after check in on friday (depends on how cheap people are, and what they are up for doing... do you need a nap after the car ride, or are you ready to roll for another day? We're getting older, so an all nighter might not be the thing to do, but I leave it up to other people). We would then leave sunday afternoon and get back in the early AM on monday (early enough to crash and get a mostly full night of sleep.

The hotel seemed nice, and doable. The area around the hotel has a lot of sites to see, not sure on things to do though. And there's food. And full nudity strippers. And stuff.

While I'd been up for this sadly I've already used all my time off with taking two weeks off work in July for my birthday.

I'm totally up for this, and wondered if people wanted to start on the logistics of it (cars, $$, and reservations) sometime soon.

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
