D&D: FF - Crafting

Post by arete »

I figured I would start a thread for ingame request. I would also note that all the items I craft have a distict tribal look that might not appeal to the non-barbarians.

I can now do some decent crafting.

I need a+3 enchantment for wild shaping on my armor, and a non-plus enchant sizing on my axe which base cost is 5,000 gold.

If people need crafting stuff let me know.

Okay, here is an updated list of item wants. Items listed with '+' between them means those items are combined into one. I also multiplied each items value by .45. This is about as simple as I could make it.

I would also like a couple of +5 tomes before epic, but those can wait.

(Magic Item Compendium)
*Flesh Ring of Scorn: (p.100, 8000gp) x .45 = 3600
*Ghost Shroud: (p.104, 5000gp) x .45 = 2250
*Scarab of Invulnerability: (p.132, 40000) x .45 = 18000
*Greatreach Bracers: (p.108, 2000gp/3000gp) + Gauntlets of Extended Range: (p.103, 2000gp/3000gp) + Gauntlets of Throwing: (p.104, 2000gp/3000gp) + Armbands of Might: (p.72, 4100gp) x .45 = 5895
*Armor Crystal of Adaptation (Greater): (p24, 3000gp) x .45 = 1350
*Weapon Crystal of Returning (Lesser): (p65, 4000gp)
*Revelation (Greater): (p66, 5000gp)
*Truedeath (Greater): (p66, 10000) x .45 = 8550

39645gp total

(Pathfinder)
*Mithril Breastplate +5: (25,000gp) x .45 = 11250
*Ring of Freedom of Movement: (40000gp) + Ring of Protection +5 (25000gp/37000gp) x .45 = 34650
*Boots of Speed: (p503, 12000gp/18000gp), *Slippers of Spider Climb: (p530, 4800gp/7200p), Winged Boots: (p 504, 16000gp) x .45 = 32400
*Headband of Mental Superiority: (p517, 144000gp) x .45 = 64800
*Belt of Physical Might: (p502, 90000gp) + Belt of Battle: (MIC: p73, 12000gp/18000gp) x .45 = 48600
*Goggles of Night: (p515, 12000gp) x .45 = 5400

197100gp total

Grand Total: 236745

405,000gp to spend

josh, you would gain no benefit from the flesh ring of scorn, you have to be an evil outsider to use it. Read it carefully.

Gid, nowhere in it's description does it say anything about needing to be an evil outsider to wear it, just FYI. It does greatly benefit me as it allows 'autoconfirm' 3 times a day, and contributes to a higher Strength score by causing Imoak damage. I'm confused by your statement.

Someone craft me some moving golems. +2 to lifting and with the accelerated unpacking, and fast unpacking bastard feats.

If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

There are a couple of items that I would like crafted if you don't mind:

Ring of Protection +5 + Ring of Freedom of Movement
Belt of Physical Might +6 (Str and Dex)
Headband of Mental Superiority +6 (Int, Wis, Cha)
Amulet of Mighty Fists +5 (with the shadowstrike ability whatever that was, adamantine, speed, and ghost touching)
Celestial Breastplate +5 (with wild, greater shadow, glamoured, and ghost touching, greater energy resistance all) (Gideon, I would really like to have quested for this armor in my 100 yrs, but I am putting it down here in case for some reason I can't and Ihave to have Jason make it)
Amulet of the Planes
Medallion of thoughts
Crystal of Adaptation

Having crafted all this, I find I'm not terribly fond of the combi-items rules, at least not in high gp games. Everyone, ideally, should be wearing the same optimized gear, and it kind of cuts in on uniqueness of characters. Where gp is actually a factor it is less of a problem, as people have to make choices as to what they are going to sacrifice (slots, gold, etc), but in high gp settings everyone should just shove all the rings/belts/amulets/boots together into one awesome item. The crystals, as written, can be merged too, creating a work around for the high gp cost of magic weapons (not necessarily bad actually, i think the pricing on magic weapons is silly, but still not what the writers were intending most likely).

all that said, I didn't cheese as much as I could; I was far too lazy to combine all the various crap, and then write down it's effects.
