We need to have an animated power up scene, stock footage of Imoak having "relations" and charging someone with the seed of destiny.

So, whenever we finish the House Vuun encounter, we will come to a point in the story that involves a great passage of time, about 100 years or so, and with your characters being immortal this is, in the grand scheme of your characters lives as quasi-gods, a short time, but for you now, it's a long time. For reasons I'll eventually elucidate in game, certain major plot elements have been delayed by your recent actions, and so you'll have this period of time to do with what you please, and it would be most facilitated by your consideration before hand, and if people feel that this would be particularly off-putting, I can still work things around to keep the pace of the game up. I'd like to know a bit about what you guys plan on doing. Aturia will be open to your direction after recent events and the deposing of house vuun from any potential place of power, so you may in large part just say what it is you want to do with it or set up, and I can work with it or prepare plot for those anticipations that provoke it.

so, i'm a bit confused regarding the thing with josh...

1)the townsfolk are claiming oppression when the goliath asked advice from them, and was in no way commanding toward the crowd.

2)the townsfolk, terrified and angry at the fallen sun-god, side with his worshipers. uneducated mobs are not known for their attachment to higher ideals such as freedom of speach and religion; rather they tend to kill the people that support ideals they dislike. and if they actually like radius, well, what does it take to make them dislike someone?

3)is there seriously no one in this town that understands fear? ginormous barbarian with death-sword staring down at them... and these people attack him. he is certain death, and he and his companions are reputed to have destroyed anyone that fucked with them. it takes some epic diplomacy rolls to convince people they want to sacrifice their life for the cause, especially in support of some abstract ideal like "freedom of religion for those worshiping a god that tried to kill me."

edit: i will be on tomorrow to post some replies to things, but i've had a busy few days, and i need recovery

Yes. You should be confused by what happened. I see only a couple things that need to be pointed out, which should lead you to see the true cause of what happened.

1) I am unlikely to be personally telling the whole story out of character, and often omit or misstate things on purpose, in regards to as yet undiscovered plot lines, in order to build or maintain dramatic tension.

2) You have added A to B to C and seen that the result is less than expected, therefore you should examine the circumstances for a missing variable, in the perspective of a high fantasy setting.

3) Not everyone in the party has revealed everything they know. A clue was left at the scene, a deliberate calling card, that once examined should reveal more.

4) At face value, the instigator should not have been able to influence the crowd as he did, however, he demonstrated conflicting ability, racial dispositions, background, and equipment. Perhaps there's more to this new face in Aturia than meets the eye...

I'm confused. In the thread about the dragon lady I'm pretty sure Imoak has only stated that she had approached him, claimed to be an enemy of Ekkis, and was on a quest for her father. I don't think much else has been said about her specifically. Yet, several people seem to be working off certain assumptions based on meta-game info.

Why aren't people more worried about her intentions? They instead seem to be working from the idea that Imoak is already in the wrong, and this lady is somehow good/right. Also, when did Ekkis actually become an enemy we were actively seeking to thwart. What has she actually done to us, short of show Imoak a 'good time'?

Am I wrong here, anyone? Have I missed something?

If all is right then that's fine, and the conversations can continue as they have been. I don't mind playing a dissonant voice. I just want it all to make sense, and I want it to be done well.

Perhaps Imoak's persistently obstinate and contrary nature has given them reason to doubt his insight into matters. If I was interacting with someone like imoak, for as long as the characters have, I would certainly risk entering conversations with him with preconceived notions, or expectations.

Also, you refer to refusing to be played like a pawn, and you mention refusing to get involved in a feud between dragons, but both of these statements don't really seem to apply to what's at hand. You've been formally asked to even a playing field you unthinkingly disrupted, and were given an identity to investigate as a method of proving intention, and rather distinctly NOT duped into anything, and after you slept with Ecchys, you became inexorably involved in a feud between dragons, so "not getting involved" is a literal impossibility.

I'm not taking sides or anything, I'm just trying to help out with explaining why people seem to be repeating themselves to you, and why certain assumptions might be being made.

I do think some serious metagame information came into play, on your part as well, referring to Oristyx as a "dragon-lady" when you do not in fact know that to be true, yet.

As to why opposing Ecchys seems like a recipe for virtue, while she hasn't done much of anything to you specifically, she is known to be Erinypsyche, the great wyrm red dragon, Scourge of the World. So, unless burning villages, wiping out peoples, deceiving the righteous and virtuous, creating famine, and consuming the weak are things you as a party wish to ally yourself with, then yeah she's an enemy.

I never said anything in my posts about dragons until he brought it up first, I was very careful of that. If he could just drop the actual name, then I could look it up and we'd all know.

If I said she was a dragon that was my bad. I was trying to avoid saying she was a dragon actually. I may have been running out of nicknames to call her so it slipped out. I think I have settled on The Silver Lady in my mind at this point.

While I don't have a problem opposing an evil dragon, per se... I don't think its unreasonable to need more of a reason than 'she did bad stuff according to some legends'. Also, while it is impossible to not be involved in the affair at this point, minimizing further involvement is possible, and it doesn't seem like an unreasonable thing to strive for.

As far as in character perceptions go, I suppose I can see it to some degree. however, I think the perception being cast is a bit disproportionate all things considered. Meh, whatever.

Okay, I edited the post where I referred to the lady as a dragon. I did pretty good up till then, and even after. Now she is just a 'creature'.

Just fyi, if you are interested Josh, I am pretty sure that my character knows who is fucking with you or at least who he "works for". I won't be able to tell you unless you share info however.

Well, thats fine and all paul, but Imoak is leaving the horrid city life behind. He will be taking a trip to the arcanopteryx to live like a king. Fuck Arturia. I will be leaving behind a note, and clue however... so there you go.

I understand, but Imoak, at this point, just doesn't care. As far as he is concerned the city is mad, and rabid, and should be put down like a sick dog. I left the knife that was thrown behind, so people who were interested could take up the plot thread. If you do find that orc though... Imoak would be a great choice for resolving the 'issue'. He certainly deserves such attention, as he essentially sent several dozen people to their deaths. No one should be to hardcore about going easy on him (fuckin dick orc).
