screw your perfect parry/dodge...

Post by rydi »

CEASELESS ARGUMENTS
Cost: 1m, 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Conviction 4, Essence
3; Type: Extra Action
Keywords: Combo-Basic
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Driving the Point Home
Sometimes a debater’s opponent can brush her arguments
aside without admitting their purpose. Once the devotee of
Conviction learns this skill, she becomes expert at pressing
her point, often repeating it ad nauseam, until her opponent
concedes the point or simply gives up.
This magical fl urry provides another attack as long as
the attack previous was unsuccessful. Each attack uses the
martial artist’s full dice pool and increases the onslaught
penalty as normal. The martial artist may continue to attack
at her full dice pool until she hits her opponent. She can
make no more attempts than she has dots of Conviction,
however, and each repeated attempt must be identical to
the original attack.

Its still a maximum of 5 attacks (6 with the merit to have a 6 in a virtue). This isn't that much more (and is actually less) extreme than some of the other Extra-Action charms. Though the cost is pretty low.

its mainly the low cost.

basically, if you know someone has perfects, you beat on them repeatedly at full dice, and force them to make either 5 perfect dodges, or get hit once. kind of like a perfect attack, but in some ways better tactically, b/c it forces different responses.

and it is cheap enough that you can use it repeatedly in a single combat, as long as you have good enough damage that you don't have to augment the attack w/dmage charms

The virtue martial arts are fucking glorious btw...I really want to learn both valor and conviction...I realize that speaks volumes about my character's character but they really do rock.

Screw your perfect attack! You and Yours Stance out of the Socialize tree for Siddies. Scene long, 10m, 1wp, you have to succeed at a conviction roll with a diff equal to my essence to attack me, and a temperance roll with the same diff to offend me
