Exalted starts with the default assumption of the setting being in the Realm Year

RY 1 - Founding of the Scarlet Empire

-Stuff-

RY 762, 8th Day of Descending Fire - students gathered at the Cloister of Wisdom to be trained by Immaculate Grand Master Ragara Myrrun

Calibration between 762 and 763 - Empress disappears

RY 763 - Mask of Winters invades Thorns; Bull of the North defeats Tepet Legions; Lytek reports the return of the Solar Exalted; The Silver Prince appears on Darkmist Isle

RY 766 - Avilister exalts and flees to Nexus. In the middle of the year he makes a great journey and returns many months later more knowledgeable and powerful than he left (and with several goodies)

RY 768 - Early in the month of Ascending Air a group of Exalts become the first to penetrate the center of the city of Denandsor. Several weeks later early in the month of Resplendent Air a mixed group of Celestial Exalts peacefully conqueror Greyfalls. In late Decending Water many members of this group scatter to diplom in nearby areas. They finally all regather during the month of Ascending Fire.

So in the Dragonblooded game the Solars have not come back right?

I think the Jade Prison was broken sometime before the 'present' in the Dragonblooded game. The catch is that with the Empress still on the throne, the Wyld Hunt annihilates most of the reincarnating Solars before they have a chance to do anything. The Bull of the North manages to slip through the Wyld Hunt's fingers, grow in power along with his circle, and defeats the Tepet Legions in the year after the Empress's disappearance. In the same year the Mask of Winters invades Thorns with Deathknight backup, meaning he's had time to get monstrances constructed for them, select his Abyssals, and do whatever training he did before invading.

In short, the Solars are back, but that probably won't become widely known knowledge for at least two or three years. They don't all instantly Exalt, because the Exaltation takes its merry time waiting for a good host to come along.
