Stuff is happening, in a dead thread. See what can happen when we all work together.

::It was a dark a stormy night. The wind rained, and dogs blew, and the rain growled (or something to that effect). Lightning blistered the air, and sharp intermittent thunder startled the already uneasy. Somewhere a helicopter existed.

In a grey stone room pudgy friars sat about a giant table littered with old musty tomes, and parchment. A fire crackled from a nearby niche in the wall, and candles burned brightly. It was just light enough to see by, and more than light enough to whisper with ominous undertones. So, the friars did that.::

-Aaaaaaaaaaand..... ACTION!!!-

Mario, puzzled, looks up from his work. The glass had cracked again. He was having a great deal of difficulty getting the glass to cool properly, but he was sure that he had done everything correctly... Mario grew angry as he looked at his failed creations, and his beast roared to life. Suddenly the smoke and fire, combined with his anger at his failure, was too much. He screamed in rage and ran from the building, only calming when he was at the stables again.

He didn't want to return to shoveling manure... He wanted more from life than this. Or from unlife anyway. What good was this power, immortality, if one had to sit and shovel manure for eternity? The god forsaken horse looked at him placidly, then nipped unexpectedly at Mario's ear; it had never liked him. Mario's frustration's boiled to the surface once more, and in a red haze he lept the stall door, and began to beat the foul tempered animal. After it was broken and bleeding, Mario ripped its throat out and drank deeply, following the creature to the ground, staining his robes with blood and horse shit.

:: Hearing the commotion, Fr. Ludwig, the stable-keeper, rushes to the scene. He stands in quiet resignation as the stable-boy once again tears apart a fine mare. Ludwig has witnessed this scene several times over the past weeks. Mario's frenzy and subsequent calming by Fr. Ludwig seems to have a rarely seen though highly prized drawback, blackout amnesia. Fr. Ludwig recalls his own troubled past as he, soon after the embrace by a mysterious and grotesquely scared stranger, tore apart his wife and twin daughters in a fit of bloodthirst that set him upon his current path of penance and flagellantism.

The monk approaches carefully, sticking to the shadows that have become his home in undeath. The steady beats of the lash against his lacerated flesh have been covered by the death rattle of the poor horse, now a feast for Mario. Fr. Ludwig waits in these final pre-dawn minutes for the rage to abate as he gathers his strength to sooth the beast and likely repeat this scene again. How will he break it to his brother that his prized horse, Aristotle, has been slain. Weighing more heavily on the mind of the old Nosferatu is the news that has fallen upon the ears of several of the eldest brothers. An Inquisitor has been dispatched to investigate the abbey... ::

::Mario weeps at seeing the aftermath of his rage, at all his hard work undone. He wanted so much more than this, to be more than this. He clutched at the hands of the hideous stable keeper as he lamented his actions.::

"Why?! Why now, after I had done so much? Now they will all hate me, I will be punished, and I won't get to make the glass!

Why are we like this Ludwig? Where does this rage come from? Why can't I make it go away? I've never been so angry before, lusted so much for anything, feared anything as much as the flame and the sun... I don't want to be a slave to it all... I can't even think half of the time, so mad with hunger or hate I am. Never was a thinker, but I wasn't like this, an animal. And now I've seen too much of the world, I want to be more, to know things like those here, to make beautiful things... But how can I do that when I'm like this, a monster, the devil's servant?"

Can we get a vampire horse please??

::A cold wind sweeps through the stables, and a mist begins to crept forward from out of the night. An eerie winny is heard in the distance, its haunting sound echoes through the minds of the present dead, as a shadow crosses the moon. On the stable floor, lying in a pool of blood, the ravaged body of the horse twitches almost unperceived. Its dead eyes roll listless in their sockets, as the strange call of the nightmare brings some otherworldly force to take the place of its departed soul. Behold the unliving husk of what was once... a horse.::
