I like the symmetry of display between Cheyne and Jason here. Jason's head if only slightly more opaque, would easily be the pic of the star of said film, meaning that the figures approaching Cheyn's image are his troops, and he is controlling them with his power, signified by the white light on his fist. However, if not, then the smile on Jason's face is easily interpretable to mean that he is indeed the far off, sorcerer type villian. This is easily the story of two young students one of which was kicked out of the EXTREMELY exclusive martial arts establishment in which they originally met, for general lechery(duh, Jason). And the remaining student has suffered a very humble life since Jason's character returned a short five years later with cool powers he found while using what little he learned while in the establishment to return, kill enough of the teaching staff, take over and kick out all but those loyal to him in said establishment. Cheyne must then discover on his own, the most secret and powerful techniques, (they having been foolishly discarded by Jason's character as he thought he already knew them and wishing to keep any of his subordinates from using them to supplant him) and return, only to find that Jason has turned into a pure evil, way too powerful for his own good, sorcerer/martial artist, and defeat him once and for all, possibly including a self sacrifice to do so. A possible theme of sacrifice is discernable in the poster itself. It could even be the main theme of said film, cheyne sacrifices himself on behalf of the remaining (disloyal to Jason's character) students, and yet survives the punishment set upon him toward the beginning of the film. At every turn cheyne's character easily sacrifices himself/possessions, whereas Jason's character refuses to sacrifice the smallest of concepts. I would definitely watch it.

wow.

That was posted over a year ago, and you've just made the first response.

I did that with photoshop.

The background is just a field, I applied a series of filters to it to make it appear as though it were an oil painting.

Jason's face came from a facebook photo, upon close inspection you might notice that his image is "being blown away" in the wind.

Cheyne's image is from his wedding. Several lens flares on his left hand give the glowing power effect.

The soldiers running through the field are actually repeats of the same image, taken from an associated press photo of a commando in gaza. Different sizes were used to give the appearance of increasing distance.

I shrunk the whole image down to make a more uploadable image. A larger, desktop size version was the original, it is available if desired.

And yes, that's more or less where I was going with it, I actually never planned the martial arts bit, but it works.

Thanks for playing!

BTW do you remember that game that you, miriam, and myself made up? I can't remember the rules specifically, but somehow a number of elements were presented by the previous player, and submitted to following player challenging them to create a movie synopsis from said elements, only to then create new elements for the next player to use for their synopsis? I believe this "social game" was the origin of the phrase "Phoenix of the Tundra" any bells rung?

it sounds vague and familiar. I do recall finding that 'the poignant tale' usually preceded many of my submissions.

I believe you are correct! I suppose it could be called a sort of reverse ad lib game, giving one the nouns and subjects before the story is written. Good fun, that.
