I want to change the titles of pages to better represent their contents, but the editor doesn't do that... how does one do that?

for example, I would prefer the Title for Skills to be:
Star Wars (D6): Attributes and Skills

And for other sections to follow the same format, i.e.:
Star Wars (D6): Character Creation Rules

There is no way to change the title of a page. To change it what you need to do is copy/paste the text from the old page to the new page. Ideally you should also replace the text on the old page with a line that reads like this:
#REDIRECT New Page Name

This will ensure that any pages that link to the old page will get autoredirected to the new one.

I am so confused, I think what you said contradicted, what you then proceeded to say.

What I described is an effective change, not an actual change.

Actually Josh just found a Move tab up near 'Edit' and 'History' that allows for this sort of change.

The naming scheme you're referring to is actually the recommended method for naming wiki articles that fall into a broad subtype. We create a 'namespace' that starts with the name of the space followed by a colon, then the name of the article.

We should come up with a universal naming scheme for articles we put on the wiki as we move forward with using it more. After some discussion with Cheyne, I'd like to propose the following conventions.

Star Wars (D6) Edits: Article title
Exalted Edits: Article title
<system> Edits: Article title

For campaign-specific house rules or related articles use something more like this:
Force of Balance: House Rules
<campaign>: article title

The main page of any project should be the name of the project or campaign:
Star Wars (D6) Edits
Force of Balance
D100 System

Would it be possible to put in a direct link to the wiki on the main LostKnights page, right under the header along the same line as the FAQ, Search, Memberlist, ect? I think that doing so would make it more accessible to people.

In the first major change to the site ever, I have added a wiki link to the top of the page under the title image.

Ok, here are some useful links for the wiki stuff tonight:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Cheatsheet - the wikipedia cheatsheet, almost all of this should be valid on our wiki as well. Includes mostly syntax. Everything from numbered and bulleted lists to internal and external links.

I propose the following set of categorization standards:

Character articles should be tagged with categories for their game system, the campaign(s) they were played in, and also the "Characters" category. Optionally, we can also tag them with their race, if people are interested in being able to see all human or elf characters separately from others.

Campaign articles should be tagged with categories for their game system, and their self-identified campaign category. Note that the category for the campaign should not be "Game System: Campaign" but just "Campaign" as each campaign should have a unique name.

House Rules should be tagged with the category for the game system they apply to, the campaign they were used in (if any), and the "House Rules" category.

Articles related in any way to a game system should be tagged with the category for that game system.

--------

There are some other possibilities - should we create a "Rules Overhaul" or "Rules Edit" category to describe the larger D6, Exalted Mass Combat and Perfect Effect, and other similar wider-scale system changes, or should we deem these House Rules?

For wider searchability and improved linkage, each article should link at least one other article. Articles that do not link to any others can be found on the Dead End Pages special page.
http://www.lostknightsrpg.org/wiki/inde ... adendpages

Similarly, some pages are not being linked by other pages. I've tried to reduce this number a bit on my own, but these pages should be linked by something else. These pages can be found on the Orphan Pages special page:
http://www.lostknightsrpg.org/wiki/inde ... onelypages

The list of special pages can be found right under the search bar in the wiki in the link labeled "Special pages". You might check it out, there's a lot of neat pages there. Everything from statistics, to which pages are the shortest, to a complete listing of all pages.

is there an index-like page that lists out the categories of the entire wiki and from which anything can be found? is that possible?
